Picture PrintSmarter as a brand-new, empty production hall.
You move your shopfloor in — sheet sizes, papers, machines, finishing. Workplans tie it all together. From there, products appear and price themselves. Maintain a value once, and it is in every calculation that uses it.
Four steps. They build on one another.
Sheet and final formats, papers and materials, machines and finishing — each with its real performance values: speeds, make-ready, waste, minimum runs.
A workplan models how a product is actually produced — step by step, with dependencies. Choose 250 g and the matching presses, drying and finishing follow automatically. The plan always calculates the most economical route.
One workplan spawns a whole product family. Formats, papers, refinements and runs become sellable variants — without rebuilding each one by hand.
Every variant carries a live price — in the shop, in a quote, via the API. Change a paper cost once and every affected price updates. No spreadsheet, no gut feeling.
One workplan. One product. Countless variants — maintain performance values once, centrally. Everything calculates along.
Digital or offset. Sheet or web.
Per-click and per-sheet models, automatic ganging of small runs, ideal for one-offs and short runs — priced down to a single copy.
Make-ready and run-on costs, plate counts, sheet utilisation and imposition — economical from mid runs up to large editions.
Your workplans speak to your production systems.
What you calculate flows straight into production — equally across the systems in your network. No double entry, no media break.
Questions about calculation & workplans
Do I have to enter every product by hand?+
No. You build workplans; products and their variants generate from them. A new product based on an existing workplan is a matter of minutes.
What happens when a paper price changes?+
You change the value once, centrally. Every calculation that uses that paper updates automatically — across products, shops and quotes.
Does it cover both digital and offset?+
Yes — digital and offset, sheet and web. The workplan picks the most economical route for each run automatically.
Can my margin differ per customer?+
Yes. Margins are applied via multipliers per customer or group — quantity- and material-dependent. The cost base stays the same; the price adapts. More in Product & Catalog.
Do I need developers to set this up?+
No. Shopfloor and workplans are maintained in the interface — no code. We support you with onboarding during the demo phase.
See live calculation on your own product.
We'll model one of your products with you and price it live — in the demo. Around 30 minutes.
